Fallout 3: Happiness is a Warm Gun

The Fallout 3 arsenal certainly deserves much praisee for its design. Almost every weapon, even if its weak to the point of being useless, has the right look and sound, which makes this hoplophile feel a tingle of happiness in his old heart. It may be the basic Assault Rifle, the iconic PPSh-43, somehow altered into a combat shotgun, or even the ridiculous .38 revolver – only plasma weaponry leaves me unimpressed.

However, even my rather limited experience in cooking tells me that even the best dish gets bland after a while. The best remedy to it is to eat your favourite food rarely and put a considerable effort into its preparation.

So it’s time for new regulations, Wasteland Trooper!

Weapons of Choice: While wearing a power armour, Hagen and his companions are allowed to carry:

  • One main weapon
  • One side weapon
  • One looted weapon – to be discarded immediately after it breaks down or the ammo runs out
  • One melee weapon
  • Heavy weapons cannot be taken away
  • Trophy weapons and loot can be marked as inactive

(the last point may deserve an explanation: Hagen will be allowed to carry more weapons to sell them or put into his collection of exotica, but he’ll never be allowed to use them; let’s assume that they are dismantled into single parts and stuffed at the bottom of his backpack).

The Essential Tools: Without power armour, Hagen and his companions are allowed to carry:

  • One main weapon
  • One side weapon
  • One melee weapon
